Time to meet the Mayor
The City of Columbia, Mayor Steve Benjamin has open visitor forum or more like a meeting with the Mayor every first Monday of each month. Everyone is welcome and can call for an appointment. You have to call last Friday, of the month to schedule the meeting. I met with the Mayor three times and each time, I would do a PowerPoint demonstrating how Columbia could save money, discuss new ideas that will help enhance Columbia image.
It’s a unique way of learning how your city branches function, how it works, and what goes into the preparation including city budget performance. Which are available on City of Columbia web site www.columbiasc.net Yes, the Mayor will answer key questions, if you‘re clear and specific. Mayor Steve Benjamin believes in transparencies and especially welcomes your idea and concerns.
Never give in to negative emotions
I hope one day soon start a new consultant firm that changes negative people into positive productivity. If you ask me why change negative people? A dollar is lost every hour because someone didn't forgive someone else. Now estimating there are 6.5 billion people on the planet. Well, you do the math! That is my point, anger keeps people from being creative, innovative, and open to positive change.
President Obama didn’t create this economic turn down, but you can bet he's feeling the negative feedback from Americans. It took 8 years of reluctant acknowledgement of Wall Street, investment engine was failing. But even greater it will take positive mentoring to America, to heal America negative emotions. Our nation greatest gift is remembering who they are, where God brought them from and we shall overcome this economic difficulty someday.
